We have focused on solving the Polythene shopping bag problem due to the Global concern regarding the Climate Change. We have taken this item very seriously to not only do the business but contribute some thing to our planet. Poly bags are simple product but the massive use of poly bag is contributing a big irreversible damage to our planet. Plastic is a petroleum based material. Also these single use plastic bags will not biodegrade for thousands of years.

We have installed our own factory in Bangladesh (Border to India). Bangladesh is the first country to Ban Polythene bag since 2002. The country is in leading position in clothing manufacturing. It is very cost effective to manufacture there. Our workforce are fairly paid and no under age hiring allowed. The minimum age of our worker is 18 years old. We pay the overtime at double rate up to 9 hours extra during the one week period. Anything over 9 hours are paid triple. Also Friday (holiday) works are paid triple. 90% of our workers are female. Male and female are equally valued and remunerated. Our community in Bangladesh loves us for this job creation opportunity. Our USA trained manager manages the manufacturing facility in Bangladesh.

Most of our competitors buy their bags from other manufacturer overseas. But we do manufacturing and printing process both in our own plant in Bangladesh and distribution center in California. Our bags are made of unbleached and Un-dyed cotton fabric. We just print the logo. The logo print is done by us at the same factory. Our bags are made of Natural Fiber. So, the natural dye works better for us. We use local (Bangladeshi) natural dyes just like old days.

Reflection

Recycled material bags are not as Green as our Biodegradable Cloth Bag. To recycle any plastic or any synthetic fiber consumes a lot of petroleum based energy in its recycling process. Also it requires extremely organized collection system. It costs a lot of money to separate from other garbage. The most important is, the recycling approach keeps motivating and validating the manufacturing of new Synthetic fiber. So, the question is, why should we consume large amount of Petroleum based Energy to Recycle some thing when the recycling process is responsible for large amount of CO2 emission. This is a vicious cycle.

Large companies with huge Marketing techniques promote Polypropylene & Recycled Plastic. Also they say Cotton is no good. Because of the Cotton farms use Pesticides. But they do not say that, Cotton Farming is still greener than other option they offer and Cotton is Biodegradable.

Remember nothing is perfect. But we have to make our choice for the less defective option. As we know, we (human being) produce Carbon dioxide when we breathe. But we can not stop breathing because of that.
